Fat Burning Injections

What is a fat burning injection?

Fat burn injections, also known as injection lipolysis, are a non-surgical procedure that breaks down fat cells and removes unwanted fat pockets. It is important to note that these injections are not weight loss injections, but rather injections to assist in the re-sculpting of a specific area.

How does it work?

These injections contain two main active ingredients namely Phosphatidylcholine (PPC) and Deoxycholate (DOC). PPC makes the fat cells permeable allowing the fat burning substance to pass into the fat cells. DOC on the other hand is the molecule that breaks down the fat and transport it to the liver where it is processed and finally excreted by the body. The combination of these two ingredients make for a perfect fat burning solution.

Am I a candidate?

Although this seems to be a miracle treatment, it is not suitable for all patients.

Here is a list of contra-indications:

  • BMI > 26
  • Having certain autoimmune diseases e.g. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus or Scleroderma
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Uncontrolled Diabetes
  • Diagnosed with liver disease, kidney disease or heart failure
  • Undergoing chemotherapy, radiation or taking cortisone
  • Suffering from bleeding disorders or using anti-coagulants

Which areas can be treated?

A variety of facial and body areas can be treated. These include:

  • Face: Jowls and double chin
  • Upper arms
  • Back (“Bra-buldges”)
  • Stomach/Abdomen
  • Flanks (“muffin tops”)
  • Thighs (inner and outer portions)

Results

Results are not immediate and require at least three sessions (8 weeks apart). According to studies the breakdown of fat cells/pockets start 3 days after treatment and results are usually visible 1-2 months after the treatment. On average patients loose about 3-4cm circumference after completion of treatment course. Of note results in patients with hypothyroidism, metabolic syndrome or who are on beta blockers may experience a delay in the onset of their results
