Not only does Microneedling assist with collagen formation, but can be used to improve facial scars, decrease pigmentation and minimize enlarged pores.

Treatments,

Microneedling

What is it?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that involves the controlled, superficial needling of the skin. It is a well-tolerated, affordable, safe and effective skin rejuvenation treatment that only takes about 20-30 minutes.

How does it work?

Microneedling is also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) as the micro-punctures cause a controlled skin injury that activates the wound healing cascade releasing various important growth factors needed for the formation of collagen (neocollagenesis) and elastin. It also causes new blood vessels formation (neovascularisation) needed to nourish the cells and structural components of the skin.

This procedure can also be used as a transdermal delivery system creating microchannels that allows active ingredients to cross the skin barrier and get directly placed into the dermis.

Results

As collagen formation takes about 6 weeks, results will not be visible immediately. To achieve desired results, several sessions are needed (performed at 4–8-week intervals). Results vary but may last 3 to 6 months.

Benefits

  • Improvement in the appearance of scars.
  • Decrease fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Improved pigmentation.
  • More even skin tone.
