What is it?

Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to improve skin dullness, elasticity, dehydration and in some instances mild volume loss. There are different types of skin boosters available but mostly contain hyaluronic acid.

How does it work?

Restylane Skin boosters and Profhilo® both improve the overall quality and appearance of the skin. However, they have some differences.

Restylane Skin Boosters

Restylane Skin Boosters contains a cross-linked (more robust) hyaluronic acid and stays where it’s placed improving fine lines, scarring and overall skin texture. It offers hydration and minimal volume and can be injected at multiple points on the face, neck and hands depending on the desired effect.

Profhilo

Profhilo is made up of a high concentration (90mg) hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid in non-cross linked (more fluid) making it spread throughout the whole face or neck although it is only injected in 5 key points (on the face) and 10 key points on the neck/décolleté. It does not add volume to the face but rather restores fat tissues and to some degree improve collagen and elastin production.

Both products create a natural, refreshed look and can be used on a wide range of skin types and ages. Both products also improve skin hydration and overall texture, as well as stimulating collagen production to some degree.
